Ella is the only fully accredited Clinical Sexologist based in Cairns. She is open-minded and supportive, and understands that sexual issues can create shame and embarrassment, and finds that often it is these feelings which are the biggest issue in embracing a healthy sex life. Ella empowers individuals and couples to overcome a range of sexual concerns such as changes in libido, Erectile Dysfunction, Painful Sex, STI diagnosis, Sexual or Gender Identity, Delayed or Premature Orgasm, Compulsive Sexual Behaviours, Infidelity, Changes after illness, surgery or baby, Concerns regarding fertility or fertility treatment, Sexual Traumas and any other difficulties one may be experiencing. Sex therapy counselling is talk therapy, with exercises to try at home. Ella welcomes people of all sexualities, genders, relationship types and bodies.

What does a sex therapist do

Sexologists study, research, and work within specialist areas in the field including sexual development over the lifespan (child, adolescent and ageing sexuality), sexual relationships, sexual behaviour and activity, sexual identity and orientation, and also with groups (cultures, people with disability, adolescents, sex in older age). The study of sexual function is also part of the broad umbrella term sexology, and may include, sexual dysfunctions like anorgasmia, erectile dysfunction, vaginismus, and sexual pain, among others.
